J. Cole Returns To The Throne On ‘The Off-Season’

The real is back. Returning with his first solo album since 2018’s KOD, J. Cole has blessed fans with The Off-Season. The 12 track effort proves Cole truly is, as he puts on ‘.100.mil,’ “Still getting better after all this time.” From the Cam’ron intro on ’95.south,’ J. Cole comes for rappers’ necks and to reclaim his thrown. Relentless bars and intricate flows set a high bar that remains throughout. From the smooth flexing anthem that is ‘amari’, to deep storytelling on ‘close’ and pure inspiration on ‘hunger.on.hillside,’ it’s a broad display of why J. Cole is one of the greatest rappers of our generation. Any release from Cole requires multiple spins to truly appreciate, so be sure to bump this on repeat, I certainly will be.
