According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Adam Silver had a meeting with general managers recently and it seems like the league is looking to officially play its first game back on July 31st. There are quite a few general managers who are advocating for more playoff teams and some even think the NBA should come back and play a total of 72 regular-season games and then delve into the postseason. Meanwhile, team owners like Michael Jordan seem to think teams that are out of playoff contention should be exempt from returning to action.
