Kosheen’s Classic “Catch” Reimagined for 2025 with a New Remix Pack

Few electronic tracks have travelled as far and wide as 2001 single “Catch” by Kosheen. Taken from their platinum-selling debut album Resist, it was the moment drum & bass rhythms broke through into the mainstream. It was paired with trip-hop atmospherics, alt-pop crossover, and Sian Evans’ unmistakably raw vocal. The single hit No. 15 on the UK Singles Chart, soundtracked European festivals and Australian clubs, and made the Bristol trio as one of the UK’s most innovative live electronic acts.

Now, 25 years later, “Catch” from Kosheen is reborn. The new Catch (2025 Reload – Remix Pt. 1), out now via Moksha Recordings, brings together five fresh takes on the classic. It reaffirms its status as a track that can shift shape and still speak to new generations of ravers.

The 2025 Reload: Part One

Rather than a one-off update, the 25th anniversary is being celebrated with a defined remix pack, each version reflecting a different corner of today’s electronic landscape.

Leading the release are Adamon & Bella Kri, the DJ duo whose melodic progressive house rework has already gone viral. Their cinematic builds and soaring drops transform “Catch” into a festival moment, tailor-made for the current melodic wave dominating European main stages.

They’re joined by:

  • Ersin AVCI, who reshapes the track into a driving, progressive trance-house hybrid.
  • Vagabond, blending rhythmic house, trance, and electro energy into a cross-genre roller.
  • Brosso, darkening the mood with a brooding, stripped-back tech-house interpretation.
  • Fanis Stam, who closes out the pack with a soulful, deep house cut, layering warmth and groove beneath Evans’ vocals.

It’s a collection that refuses to treat “Catch” as museum nostalgia. Instead, it frames it as living material.

Why ‘Catch’ Still Resonates

To understand the weight of this new release, one must first appreciate Kosheen’s significance. Formed in Bristol, the Anglo-Welsh trio, originally consisting of vocalist and songwriter Sian Evans alongside producers Markee Substance and Darren ‘Decoder’ Beale. They were pioneers in blending the complex, breakbeat rhythms of drum & bass with elements of trip hop, electronic music, and traditional, emotive song craft.

When Resist first landed in 2001, it marked Kosheen’s breakthrough; it also marked a shift in UK dance culture. Alongside hits like “Hide U,” “Catch” showcased how underground rhythms could cross into the charts without losing their edge. Evans’ vocals gave electronic music an emotional centre, while Markee Substance and Darren Decoder’s production blurred lines between drum & bass, breakbeat, and electro.

That malleability is exactly why “Catch” thrives in 2025. Each new remix underscores how its core DNA — raw emotion + sharp rhythm — adapts seamlessly to progressive house, trance, tech, or deep grooves. It’s a reminder that true music evolves and never ages.

With Catch: 2025 Reload – Remix Pt. 1, Kosheen prove that a track born 25 years ago can still thrive on today’s dance floors. The project balances nostalgia with forward motion, reaffirming the group’s influence while inviting fans to rediscover their timeless sound.
