Prolific modern rock artist Steve Edwards is on a hot streak this year with a brand new album Born and several outstanding music videos shot in New Zealand, the artist’s native country. Topping charts all across the world, including going #1 on iTunes in several European countries and North America, the album has reached hundreds upon thousands of streams within the first week of release, creating buzz around the artist’s comeback. Steve Edwards had announced a hiatus upon his return to New Zealand, but after a few years, he found his way back to making music and collaborating with the best talent in the scene.
New Zealand native Steve Edwards had previously teased the album with “Colour of Blood” and “Fallen”, after which the ten-track album followed. Fans quickly started a buzz around “Born” and “Happysad”, two of the tracks on the album that carry profound meaning. The latter, for instance, is a transcendental melodic creation that juxtaposes happiness and sadness, pondering on their similarity rather than contrast. With a music video that’s surpassed 200K plays, “Happysad” is one of the most iconic pieces by Steve Edwards, a piece that reflects on his own experience as well as life in general.
Steve Edwards is fully committed to his passion for music, composing and producing his art working with Bob Shepherd and Simon McDowell, a drummer who had previously worked with Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift. Stay tuned for more and let’s see what’s next for Steve Edwards!
