One of the most desirable trading cards in the world, LeBron James’ signed rookie card, is expected to sell for over $1 million at an upcoming auction.
As LeBron James looks to bring home another championship, his first with the Los Angeles Lakers, collectors are salivating over the all-time great’s rookie trading card, which is expected to fetch a fortune at an upcoming auction.
The ultra-rare card is one of only twenty-three that were produced, featuring elements that are personal to LeBron, which also make it super rare. For starters, it contains his autograph from the 2003-04 season, his rookie year. There is also a patch from his jersey, which was worn during a photo-shoot that year.
The card will be sold at Goldin Auctions and they’re expecting it to go for over $1 million, surpassing the Mike Trout card that just sold for $923K. At the time, the Trout memorabilia set a record.

The King James card is being classified as a near-perfect 9.5/10 condition, also known as “gem mint.”
“The basketball card market is on fire,” said Goldin Auctions to TMZ. “We expect this will surpass the record recently set by the $922,500 Mike Trout card to become the most valuable basketball and most valuable modern card of all time.”
The card will be for sale on June 22.
