After blowing out L.A and snapping a six-game losing streak, Towns and the Timberwolves can breathe easier.
The Minnesota Timberwolves and Karl-Anthony Towns snapped their six-game losing streak in surprising fashion last night, traveling to Staples Center and blowing out the Los Angeles Lakers with a final score of 107-83.
A much-needed win for the now 4-7, struggling Timberwolves against a LeBron-less Lakers team who were on a small two-game win streak themselves heading into Friday night’s showdown. After a rough couple of weeks, Minnesota fans can be happy with the important road victory that saw their star player Towns finish the game with 29 points, four threes, and seven rebounds in only 30 minutes of action.
In his post-game interview, Towns expressed some of those naturally happy feelings that come with finally getting out of the loss column in dominant fashion, winning a tough game on the road.
“It feels real good. Food’s gonna taste good for the first time in a long time,” KAT joked after the game.
He continued, “For us to come into this territory and find a way to win, and win in the way that we did, speaks volumes about this team. Especially after the losing streak, we’ve had… speaks volumes to the composure and the character of this team.”

Minnesota outscored Los Angeles 40 to 12 in the third quarter, which put the dagger in the Lakers hopes of keeping the game competitive. KAT credited defense as his team’s point of emphasis coming out of halftime, regardless of if their shots were dropping offensively.
The Lakers have a rest day before preparing to take on the San Antonio Spurs tomorrow, while the Timberwolves ready themselves to face the Los Angeles Clippers in Staples Center again, tonight.
