Far from a standard EP, this project is a love letter to the transformative energy of Burning Man. It captures the gritty, ethereal magic of his sunrise set on the Mayan Warrior art car in Black Rock City. From A Dream To The Desert
Summit, a Burning Man devotee, had long been captivated by the Mayan Warrior’s iconic sunrise sets. One where we see a tradition of blending pounding bass lines with the desert’s serene chaos. This year, he realised a bucket-list goal by performing on the art car, a set that became one of the most talked-about moments of the event.
“After my first Burning Man and experiencing a Mayan Warrior sunrise, I was so inspired that it became a long-term goal to play on their car,” Summit shared. “A few years later, I got the invite, and I knew I had to come proper, so I prepped for months, making edits and reaching out to other artists for remixes that would fit the vibe. All of these remixes were crafted specifically for my Burning Man set – some of my biggest tracks reimagined and reborn in the desert.”
The result? Playa Package, a compilation born from months of preparation and collaboration with producers who embody Burning Man’s ethos. Summit’s set wasn’t just a performance for the festival, it was also a fundraiser for the Mayan Warrior non-profit. His recent Mayan Warrior Pop-Up performance in Los Angeles earlier this month carried that same spirit, blending philanthropy with pulsating beats.
The Sound of the Playa
Playa Package reworks six of Summit’s most iconic tracks, stripping them down to their emotional core while infusing them with deeper grooves and unexpected textures. These remixes intimate, minimal remixes tailored for the desert’s dawn-to-dusk energy. Summit himself leads with a Playa Dub remix of Crystallized (feat. Inéz), a track that’s been a festival favorite at Tomorrowland and Outside Lands.
Other highlights include Millero’s sleek melodic reimagining of Where You Are featuring Hayla. OMRI.’s deeper, cinematic spin on What A Life with Guz and Stevie Appleton, and EdiP’s haunting remix of Focus (feat. CLOVES). N.O.Y & Guy Katch brings a driving edge to Shiver, while Mishell closes the package with a hypnotic, club-ready version of Stay With Me.
