Cocoon Recordings Marks 25 Years With An Exclusive Anniversary Compilation

Sven Väth’s Cocoon Recordings marks its 25th anniversary with 25 Years Cocoon Recordings – Volume One. It is the first half of a two-part release honouring the label’s long-standing impact on electronic music. Presented as a limited 5×12″ vinyl box set with a spectral-reflective foil finish, the project brings together 15 exclusive tracks that celebrate Cocoon’s evolution from underground institution to a global cultural phenomena.

The Journey Of This Compilation

The compilation features 15 exclusive tracks from an impressive mix of Cocoon veterans and rising names. The lineup brings together genre-shaping icons like Butch, Robag Wruhme, Josh Wink, Guy J, Extrawelt, and Harvey McKay. Alongside producers including Jonathan Kaspar, Riccardo De Polo, Raxon, and others.

This balance between legacy and progression mirrors Cocoon’s longstanding ethos: embrace evolution while honoring roots. Each artist contributes a fresh, original cut, creating a dynamic snapshot of the sound that has made Cocoon one of the most trusted voices in techno.

A Vision That Redefined Underground Culture

Since launching the label, Sven Väth has shaped Cocoon in a way that it has now become a cultural institution, influencing Berlin club floors, festival stages across Germany and many other countries, and a global club culture.

“Cocoon Recordings was never just a label,” Väth told Beatportal. “It was a cultural space from day one—a home for visionaries. I wanted artists to unfold freely, beyond trends and boundaries.”

That vision helped define Cocoon’s reputation for fearless A&R, boundary-pushing techno, and a consistent dedication to artistic freedom.

With the second volume still to come, Cocoon’s 25th anniversary is shaping up to be one of the most important milestones of the year for underground electronic music.
